butterflies!

skirt - Wet Seal, when Wet Seal had tons of awesome
print designs and cute skirts...

My city has this awesome place that I love to go, with a great, huge greenhouse and all kinds of tropical plants (and carnivorous plants, and cacti, and seasonal plants, and...).  In early spring, they bring in all sorts of butterflies and let them loose in the tropical greenhouse.  It's wonderful to roam around in the warm, humid greenhouse-world and spot all kinds of flitting butterflies.  Everyone is especially always after the blue morpho butterfly.  I've gotten a couple shots of them in years past; this year's best was the bluish blur you see in this sketch (the other butterflies are also from photos I took).  I happened to be taking pictures of another resting butterfly when the blue one flitted by, and my camera snapped the picture just as it was in the middle of the screen.  What timing!

Also, please enjoy two more new-old posts featuring this skirt.  One of them features a small commercial.  Have fun!

soft and sparkling

sweater - So
scarf - handmade
skirt - Ann Taylor

I got a new skirt!  A couple, in fact.  Not that I needed them, but when we had our monthly get-together with the extended family, my awesome cousins had an impromptu mini clothing-exchange, and I got to join in (though I didn't have anything to offer)!

I'll have to be careful not to let this skirt get covered in Finny's fur.

Still got braids!!

fluffy skirts for all!

Sorry for being a slacker with the last outfit.  Here's a nice fun outfit to make up for it!  Fluffy skirts make everything better, right?  I realized later the olive-dark pink colour scheme rather resembles the last outfit.

I've been using my brother's tablet to colour these last few posts.  I haven't determined whether it's faster or not, but it's really fun!  And I like not having to change my brush size when I want to colour a small area—I just don't press as hard with the tablet pen.  (Stylus? whatever it's called.)  Maybe someday I'll be skilled enough to actually draw with the tablet.  For now I still prefer pencil and paper for that.

un poco rococo

There! See, I have not abandoned you! An update... an outfit over a week old, but it's colourful and lacy and pretty, so you'll forgive me? :D

I have many more drawings of outfits to post, I just have to scan them and make them nice and colourful. But I will do that in the coming days! Maybe not tomorrow, as tomorrow is Thanksgiving (despite the date on this post—it's backdated to correspond to the day the outfit was worn, not the day I post) and I'll be spending it with my family.  But look for more soon!

In any case, I like wearing (and making) knit scarves, but dressy-type scarves can be nice too (in other words, I'm thinking I need to acquire a couple more for this winter). They keep my neck warm, which is good because most of my shirts have wider or more open necklines. And they can be worn so many different ways! When I wore this outfit, I seriously considered wrapping the scarf around my head in a piratesque-fashion... but I decided my neck needed the warmth more, and my hair was too cute to cover up. Next time, though...
