beginner's luck

sweater - American Eagle
top - L8ter (Younkers)
pants - YesStyle
socks - Sockdreams

I have fantastic beginner's luck.  Have I mentioned this before?  Especially with board games, it seems.  Maybe I'm just so quiet and unassuming that no one notices me until it's too late and I've taken over the world.  So this is my "Never you mind about little ol' me while I build a ridiculous train empire, and spell words like quinoa and tunicate (+50pts) in your Scrabble game" face.  (okay, so it wasn't my first time playing Scrabble, but it'd been a while, and most of my memories of the game are of putting down words like "did" and "far" and adding an "s.")

double knit

dark purple sweater - American Eagle
light purple sweater - So...
skirt - Old Navy

Now we reach my "Take that, winter!" phase in which I wear as many layers as I can pile on.  This is not the last time you'll see me wearing two sweaters (plus other assorted shirts).  Mmm, warmth...

Stupid ol' winter.

merry day after Christmas!

So I had a lovely Christmas.  The next day I went to my parents' place again after church because mum was making hash browns!!  Mm, delicious warm potato-food.  Well, while I was there my dad discovered a forgotten Christmas gift in his sock drawer.  It was... a digital camera!!  A super adorable turquiose coloured one, just for me!  So now I can take pictures of all sorts of cute and wonderful things, like Finny fallen asleep with the yarn I'm knitting, or my mini Christmas tree as you saw a couple posts back.  Thanks, mum and dad!!

curry flurries

Working on catch-up, still.  Maybe I need to go back to just posting these as b/w sketches and worry about colour when I have an endless supply of free time again.  Hmm.

Anyway, I got a little dressed up to go out for lunch with my dad at an Indian restaurant down the street from me.  This past... spring? I discovered an Indian curry cookbook (660 Curries by Raghavan Iyer) at the library, and I've been in love with Indian food ever since.  But so far I'd only ever made it myself, so I was curious about what the food at a restaurant would be like!  They had a lunch buffet, so we got to sample a bunch of dishes.  It was all tasty, but I think next time I'll try ordering off the menu to experience the food at its best.  Now I'm even more determined to try making paneer with goat milk someday...

hurrah!

I'm getting behind on posting! Oh no! I tend to get busy on weekends, and I've been wearing outfits with a bunch of silly patterns (which take more time to colour)... and sometimes I just wanna be lazy. I'll try to get all caught up tomorrow!

In the meantime, I like this outfit and this drawing, so it can stay on top of the page for a while.  Purple and yellow are my faaaavourite complementary colour pair.  Throw in a tinge of pink and I'm in love-love. I knitted the scarf last winter and it's my current favourite.  It's so soft and warm!
