sleepy fin

weird pants - Candies | cami - Express | socks - SockDreams

I'm getting caught up!  So caught up, I'm running out of finished things to post!  I'm going to be on my way out the door soon (I think...) and had just enough time to finish this, so enjoy!  I've been really into the blue-teal-brown colour scheme lately; you'll see it again in a few more days...

We had thunderstorms for a couple nights and my usually fearless, wild, nocturnal cat Finny turned a bit more meek and cuddly.  Of course, he sleeps the entire day anyway, so when I drew this I was probably just admiring his usual daytime laziness...  He's awfully cute.

Finally, have some updates from September 2009! (those are four separate links)

good company

On the other hand (following up from the last post), obsessing isn't healthy either, so it is good that I had a busy Saturday full of plans with friends to drag me away from my computer.  I went to a housewarming fondue party (chocolate-dipped carrots are not too bad)  and then to a dinner with a random group of people from my church (random because the groups were formed by picking names from a hat), and both were good and encouraging and pleasant.  I made a strawberry pie for the dinner's dessert and it was very tasty (if I may say so).  But it might have contributed to the cold I was just then coming down with...  (tsk, tsk)

improv neapolitan

earrings - WAR Chest
sweater - AƩropostale
lace shirt - f21
skirt - Fresh Brewed (Younkers)
brown shoe - Airwalk

We had an improv event thingy at my church!  I was expecting that this would be an improv troupe(?) performing, with some audience participation here and there, but it ended up being the two improv-people giving prompts and all of us were the performers.  Eek!! They got me to participate in one skit (though I did not actually pose dramatically like this).  I got to play the part of a third grader visiting the Grand Canyon!

The outfit theme—can you guess it?  It's neapolitan ice cream!  Or neapolitan candy.  Ooh, I remember in elementary school we did a unit on Space and Astronauts and stuff, and I got to taste some freeze-dried(?) neapolitan ice cream(???).  It was pretty radical to me, and that's still the first thing that comes to mind when I think "neapolitan."  I wonder if they sell that stuff somewhere...

sleepy ruffly

The second part of the bored-sleepy set.  Again I am sad that I can never quite achieve the vibrancy of my medium-dark turquoise clothes with the flat colours available to me in a digital palette.  Alas, RGB...

christmas decoratin'

Saturday evening was spent with the family (minus one, plus two), decorating the Christmas tree!  Yay!! It was nice to go back home and be a part of that.  My own tree is very small and still rather sparse in the ornament (and light) department.  But our family's Christmas tree is packed with lights and ornaments and happiness!!

This year it was my turn to hang the Dancing Cow ornament, the treasure of our collection.  It's a wooden cow with a pull-string that makes his arms and legs move, and was one of the first ornaments my parents got for their tree.  There was also a hunt to find the paper fan angel with a photo of my brother's 8(?)-year-old face, another (slightly) more recent treasure.

shoes that sparkle

These shoes!! The shoes!!!!  They are amazing, fabulous, glittery sparkly magical high-top shoes. I found them at AJ Wright in the clearance section (never been in that store before, probably never will again...) and my first reaction was something like shock, disbelief, and a twinge of horror at the ridiculous shoes before me. But seconds later I'd fallen in love with the sparkle and bling and couldn't put them down. I think it was fate. (even though they're a size too big. but they lace up tight so it's okay!) Sooooooo awesome shoes!!!! I don't think this drawing does them justice.  But they are fantastic.

By the way! I added some more posts for past months—it may or may not be obvious, but I started this blog about a week and a half ago, and I've been filling in past daily fashions as I get them coloured.  I've been keeping a fashion journal sketchbook since mid-May, but most of the drawings were not originally coloured until recently.  So it's a work in progress.  Anyway, these posts are new:
