wild ponytail

And we're done with March!  Onward to April!  It's weird, though—every time I went to write the date on these drawings, I had a strong urge to write "september" instead of "march."  Why would that even be?  I don't know.  Now that I'm working on April drawings I have no problem writing the correct month.

The other reason I like doing messy french braids with wet hair is that the next day, once my hair is dry, the back is all crazy-curly-wavy-fun and I can put it up in a fluffy, wild ponytail like this.  Fun hair makes a happy lys!

a little wild

I think this might be the last of the braids—at this point they were almost all out and my hair was all crimpy-textured.  I liked it a lot, actually.  Maybe I need to go back in time to the 80s and nab one of their hair crimpers!

Sorry, I don't remember where these awesome socks came from!  Maybe Younkers?  My lovely aunt picked them up for me :D

Ohhhhh guess what!  I was looking at my archives and noticed January only had 30 posts, despite being 31 days!  And I realized I totally forgot to post one, so it's up now, and here you can go see it!

improvised lace

For various reasons, I ended up sleeping over at my parents'. I hadn't planned on this, so I only had yesterday's outfit and one recently-laundered lace shirt to throw in the mix! Oh no! Same is boring, so I did my best! to make up something new. Mum generously shared her belt with me, and it turns out I liked it so much she let me keep it and I wore it again for the next two days.

Wearing a scarf around my head turned out to be really cozy.  I'm considering adopting a 50s(?) movie star look, except I don't really like wearing sunglasses...

bossy princess

Oh, oh!  An excuse to dress up!  My littlest brother's birthday was Sunday but he was headed back to school that day, so we all got together Saturday night and had Chinese food.  I ordered Princess Chicken!  It's a good thing that dish is so delicious (despite all the green peppers, which I eat first to get rid of), because I can never resist it when I see that name.

(meep... just barely fit everything in the tags field)

interpretive mermaid

Eheheh. And what happens when you eat candy and cookies and a caramel apple and stay up late? Sugar-zombie-death the next day, that's what. Let this be a lesson to you all. I'm sorry, mum. You taught me better than this!!

(but it was totally deliciously worth it... :D)

For actual-halloween, I didn't dress up too outrageously. I had a super cool idea, but Halloween fell on a Sunday and it would've been weird to wear to church. And I didn't have any plans for after church (beyond eating something vaguely healthy and taking a nap), so wearing it around the house by myself would've been a waste. So I'll have to save it for next year... or another time when I get the urge to dress up fabulously.

cat crazy

Two and a half(?) days into cat-sitting—their hiding and glaring at me and general anti-social behaviour started to get to me.  It can put one on edge, spending hours in an empty house and your only company is cats who might possibly hate you.

(Don't) notice how the dot pattern gets slightly more sparse on the bottom half of my shirt.  Guess which part I did first!  Whoops.  The real shirt's pattern is probably twice as dense, but I was working quickly so I'd have an update to share with you, my kind viewers
